Depth of Mystery July 2008 |
|
Depth of Mystery was my second piece of artwork done in Redding. I had gotten closer to God than I had in a very long time - this was the first few days - and I started looking and seeing the pictures He constantly gives me in my imagination. This picture was one that I saw and I painted it in my apartment without fully knowing what I was painting or why. Eventually the "mystery" of its interpetation has slowly been revealed. The whole painting is about unity and being one with God. The ribbon-like strands represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There are three intensities of color in the background, three strands, and three feathers - unity. Finally, though the two rings are separate, they are together and obviously meant for one another. |
