Focus

July 2008

"Painting is movement captured on canvas."

A speaker at the School of Worship moved on from this sentence quickly as it only indirectly led to the point he was trying to make. However I remembered it and tried to look at painting differently. No longer bound by trying to make a painting "perfect" (I had gone through some healing in my prophetic arts class), I gladly used my fingers to deliciously move the thick paint and attempt to capture movement on canvas.

The painting is called Focus because it is focusing at a certian point. While I need to retouch it and put more white at its focus, the red thing is direct and going towards something whole-heartedly. I originally painted many, many colors on each side, but they blurred together as the concept of "focus" materialized.
